Graeme Field Seychelles

Graeme Field

Growing up in East London on the east coast of South Africa, Graeme has spent more time on and in the water than on land. Surfing, fishing and diving from a young age, Graeme has always had an affinity for the the ocean and everything in it. This love of the ocean took him to Cape Technikon in Cape Town where he obtained a National Diploma in Maritime Studies and started working in the maritime industry. In 2002 he gave it all up and took a job as a saltwater fly fishing guide in the Seychelles. It was a life changing decision and he never looked back.

Fly fishing and surfing has since taken Graeme to spectacular and far flung places such as Cuba, Mexico, Virgin Islands, Alaska, Seychelles, Tanzania, Mozambique, Bassas da India, Botswana, Madagascar, Indonesia, El Salvador and Tristan da Cuhna Island. Spending time in such colourful, vibrant and photogenic places inspired a love of photography and writing.

Graeme has since written and photographed for a number of local and international magazines such as African Safaris, Sawubona, The Complete Fly Fisherman, Tantravel, This Is Fly, Catch Magazine, Fly Fishing in Saltwaters, Rock, Surf & Deep and Zigzag Surfing Magazine.

Graeme Field lives in Kommetjie, Cape Town, South Africa with his lovely wife Lia, super cool son Daniel and their charismatic but slightly odd hound, Josh.
